ID please

I took a fancy to this little plant in a local nursery but as is often the case with these novelty things there is no name on the label. Ant thoughts please. Thank you. Eric

It may be a Ponytail Palm - Beaucarnea Recurvata

  • Thanks Pete, very helpful. 👍 I've just looked it up and you're right. I had looked on the website of the company where the plant was grown, https://www.decorumplantsflowers.com, but couldn't find it. I found it just now though and I see why I missed it. They are a single stemmed plant but the grower obviously put several in each pot to get saleable plants quicker. I was looking for something with multiple stems.
I see on Wikipedia that there are 350 year old specimens recorded in Mexico. I don't think I will get to mine at that age😀

You'll have to mention it in your Will  ;)

When I worked I used to walk past a house that had one growing on a front windowsill.
Year after year it was there steadily growing - and it probably still is
Good luck with yours - and do post a photo when it gets to 350 years old :)
