I've got two of those dahlias @Fran IOM - the flowers are huge. Mine were from Wilko. the plants themselves are quite short and spreading. Unfortunately I got the tubers muddled up when planting and ended up with these at the back of the border and the really tall ones at the front swamping everything else!
Here's my 2 year old holding one.
My dahlias are still covered in blooms. I'm going to lift them though when they start looking sad as I ended up putting them in completely the wrong place this year.
I'm not sure how much difference it makes Fran - it might depend on your device and how/where your pix are located etc. Mine are in a photo library on a laptop, so perhaps that's more straightforward
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Mr.Vine Eye. I think your dahlias win the prize! Mine are probably a quarter of the size. Still good value I think. Even your two year old looks impressed. @Fairygirl. I put the photo into a folder (I think for photos) and then dragged it from there to the post. Many thanks for your advice as it certainly worked.
Glad it worked for you Fran. I find it the easiest way to do them now. I resize everything I want to use on the forum [ to less than 1MB] and the resized pix are in the folder with the original, so it's easy to pick the right one to shift

Hey, Fran you cant give Mr Vine Eyes the prize, you havent seen mine, and I grew some from seed! Complicated, I have no idea how to put pictures on here, (or anywhere else for that matter!) Hubby sticks a cip/card thing or lead from the camera to the PC. They are still flowering beautifully, I picked a few for a vase yesterday, hoping to take a pic but the camera battery is flat, we have soooo many leads in the drawer, he is a technician, and very er technical!!! Which pound shop fran, there is one in |Eastbourne, I hink its poundland.
Hi Nanny Beach! Didn't realise there were other competitors! Do hope you will succeed in putting your entry on a post. I had no idea how to put a picture on here either so you are not the only one. Do you or your oh have a phone that takes photos? (I don't and rely on my daughter). Took Fairygirl's advice and the photo was emailed to me on my laptop which I transferred to 'photos" and then was able to drag it over to my post if that makes any sense. Keep trying! Our pound shop is call Dealz and is a subsidiary of Poundland. Can't call it pound shop as they have to charge 1.20 (extra 20p for carriage over here). Mentioned previously that the garden section has disappeared until the Spring arrives. What I don't like is when they get trays of plants in which are mostly dead as they can't be watered in case the floor gets wet (health and safety). Usually buy one to save its life! Will look forward to seeing your dahlias grown from seed. Well done.
NB - you just need a basic card reader for your camera, if you didn't get one with it. You can get them anywhere - supermarkets or cheapo shops. This is mine One end in the device, and the other fits a USB slot on the laptop. The reader has various sizes of slots for the type of card you have to put in it. Once the pix are transferred, you can play about with them depending on teh type of photo editor you have avaialble. If you don't have a p. editor, you can download them for nothing. I lost my Windows one for a while [which is incredibly easy to use] and found one called PhotoScape, which was also easy to use. You can then crop and sharpen pix if you want, or use an automatic adjustment to enhance the colour etc. Easier to use a mouse for all that too. If I right click on photos I have the option to resize so that they load easily on here. Most of my pix are more than 5 or 6 MB, but it'll depend on your own camera. Hope that helps a bit

I have an old skool nokia, yes it takes pics, hubby puts on the PC for me, camera, he takes chip thing out puts in "somewhere" and they go in a file, but I have no clue how to add them to anything, I get him to physically print them for me. I am not daft as my kids think, I worked on a Hyper Acute sroke Unit before I retired!
