Pond surface film

Afternoon all, my pond has been getting a sort of milky white film on it this last week or two- on and off. You cant scoop it, its not oily. Any ideas? Ive had the larger birds visiting more- crows, wood pisgeons etc so wondered if it was from thei feathers or perhaps pollen ... cant think what else it could be!

    It's the wood pigeons leaving powder down behind on the water when they have a bath ... they do it here too.  It's harmless.

    I've often wondered what caused that too - so thanks from me as well.
    I usually just spray the hose over the top of the pond briefly and it disappears

    On a hot day our woodies sometimes just 'sit' in the water on the beach at the edge of the pond and you can see the powder spreading out around them,
