Cutting Pyracantha hedge

Our Pyracantha hedge is looking quite leggy, despite being cut only about 4 weeks ago.  Is it too late to give it another trim?

I have been snipping off the leggy bits on my pyracantha for the last few weeks just to keep it tidy. The growth seems to be slowing now. That shouldn't be a problem if you just want to tidy it, but l wouldn't cut back too far.  :)

How long is leggy?  I'd be tempted to leave it now till spring but purely because I lost a whole pyrcantha hedge in my old Belgian garden one winter after a particularly long cold spell of freezing, drying winds from Siberia.   You won't get anything that cold in the UK but it gets cold enough to freeze and kill the fresh new tips so I'd leave it and cut them back next spring after the worst frosts.    If thye're whipping about a bit, try tying them in to the main structure.  You may well encourage shorter, lateral growths with more flowers and berries next year.

I'd agree with Obelixx - it could be risky taking too much growth off just now.
If  the leggy stems are low down, you can either prune back the individual stems so that they then bush out, or tie in to get better coverage, as Obelixx says.

I don't find it gets leggy, but if you have a pic that would help with better advice too KOG  :)
