Fritillaria Crown Imperial

I seem to remember seeing that they should be planted on their sides, any advice please?

  • I think it was Carol K. that said that, to stop them filling with water and rotting.

I mentioned it a while ago when someone asked about them.  Even in pots, they can rot if the hollow in the top gets full of water so always plant them on their sides and they'll do just fine.
