Plastic rings on beer cans.

LynLyn Posts: 23,190
Would anyone be interest In signing the petition to get rid of these dread plastic rings that hold 4/6 packs of beers together, I’m sure all of us cut the horrible things so nothing can get caught in them but it’s apparent that lots of people don’t.

Dreadful things, catching round the necks of sealife. No need for them.

    Done, Lyn
They're a monstrosity, and totally unecessary. Dreadful for all sorts of wildlife.
Something I never buy, so at least I don't contribute to the issue.
Are people really incapable of holding a few cans of something without them? Are manufacturers really unable to transport them any other way?  :/

Done.   Good job I remember my old postcode tho as it doesn't seem to think anyone outside the UK would be interested.

Never buy them.  OH's beer comes in bottles and I don't drink beer or the kinds of soft drinks that use these horrors.

Possum has found a report (FB) that says most sea and rock salts contain minute plastic particles so we're ingesting too...........

Done Lyn. Always cut them up. They have caused horrendous injuries to hedgehogs.

terrible things! also avoid using cut plastic bottles as cloches in the garden, animals can get them stuck on their heads
