Lawn issues

Please could I get some advice regarding  repairing dead patches that have appeared on my lawn- possibly  down to me leaving cut grass on the lawn earlier this month...
Please also advise on the best method of scarifying...
Many thanks.

The classic tool for scarifying is a spring tine rake. That will give both you and your lawn a good workout. If you have a large lawn you may want to hire in an electric or petrol powered scarifier. Once that is done simply re-seed with fresh grass seed although it is getting a bit late in the year.

You'll also probably find that some of that will regrow in spring, or in warmer periods anyway, and the patches will become smaller. The grass around them will also spread a bit into the bare bits  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
