any advice please ? ......Sending a plant to Ireland?

I have a plant weighing   400 grams , I want to send it to a member in Ireland .I wonder if I shake off as much soil as possible could I put it in a large poly envelope bag. As with a courier the cheapest I found plus I've used before  they want  £ 15 .
if it's over it would be another fiver (which actually i wanted to put in another two iris tubers)
The poly bag would be ok  I think .???????
Advice needed !!!!!!!?!

Assuming you mean the Republic of Ireland and not Northern Ireland (which is UK) you can send as a small parcel for about £6.20 by Royal Mail or so depending on which service you use.
Check out their website for a price  :)

Ordinary post is fine. If it's a plant you can cut back, do that first.  Moisten any soil, and keep it wet by putting some dampened kitchen roll round the soil/roots, and then a poly bag. Fasten with an elastic band or some tape.  It'll then be fine in a jiffy bag or a simple cardboard box or wrap.
Then do as MPenguin says re posting.  :)

I wouldnt send plants to Ireland, cheaper to do a BAC transfer and let them go and buy it locally.  £6.20 is a lot of money that’s only up to 500gms, then they may not get it for over a week.
If it’s Northern Ireland it’s the same postage as here, £2.95 for up to 2kgs.

I cut  the tops off two plastic bottles to wherethe straight bit starts  and cut a frill  into one  so that it slots  into the other
You then  have a protective  waterproof  capsule for  your plant and some damp cotton wool
    Wrap and post.

What sort of plant is it? If it is one that dies down, it will be easier and cheaper to send just the rootball in a couple of months, when it is dormant.
