Heuchera - divide?

GrajeanGrajean Posts: 447
I have just found a very old heuchera in the back of the border which seems to have 3 crowns one is about 6 inches tall. Can I split the plant into 3? It has a very dark red leaf cannot find name.

Yes - no  problem. They split and grow on very easily   :)
If there's a lot of foliage, you can cut some away to make it easier for them to get established. Remove any tatty or dead stuff too.  You can plant them a bit deeper too, if they've pushed themselves up and out the ground a bit.
It's a commom issue with them, but they;re very forgiving plants.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
