I’ve got some salvia merleau blue seedlings in trays in the greenhouse...should I prick them into individual pots now or do I wait until spring? I’ve got some candytuft and sweet William in the trays below - do I treat them in the same way? Thank you
Oh, well, even in the greenhouse, the weather doesnt matter, I bury myself in there with a cuppa and the radio, but yes, definitely prick em out, pot em on, oherwise, they will run out of steam in those trays, they are pretty big already, I must admit I would have done it long before now.
It has been very mild and a beautiful sunny afternoon here in the NW. Mind you it did not stop raining all day yesterday. Most of the salvias and sweet William pricked out now. I’ve had to come in coz I’ve run out of pots. I’m going to go and ask at my local Dobbies tomorrow if I can have some of the pots they are throwing out - recycling!
Been doing something very similar gardeninglily - taking cuttings, planting out and potting on etc. Nice to have a bit of dry, sunny weather to get on with those jobs, after all the rain here too Grand looking little plants - they should settle in nicely in bigger pots ready to overwinter. I like them quite big too before moving them, if it's this time of year, otherwise they tend to just sit there sulking.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
