sweet peas...

Janie BJanie B Posts: 963
Hi there, I'm just about to plant up some sweet pea seeds that I saved from my fab plants this summer... just wondered, do they as a rule come up as well, or less well than the plants they've come from? It's just that my garden isn't huge, and if they're going to be less than spectacular, I'd rather spend my time on other things...

Saving your own seeds is the same process, tho on a smaller scale, as how commercial seed companies get their seeds.  As long as your plants were healthy there's no reason for their seeds not to well.   Sowing now give you time to see how the do and then, if underwhelmed, you can buy fresh seeds to sow in Jan/Feb.
