What type of rose is it?

    Yes they are quite nice, and now I can enlarge the photo on this computer, I can see they are slightly different, rootstock has 5 petals, these might have more, I can't see them properly... this is where you need lots of photos...
    ... but it's not one of those ramblers, as I go by the growth habit, the hips and foliage...  and I can't see any obvious graft union at the base, it looks like sucker growth..  but.. could be a different species type..

    It might be a bird sown baby from one of the bigger ramblers.  I've brought a baby from my Kiftsgate to this garden and, while I know it won't be the same, so far it does have attractive white flowers with a gold centre and perfume.  Haven't let it make hips this year as it's only a few feet tall still and I want more growth for next year.

  • I didn't plant it but it's been there for years. It's extremely thorny so I thought it might be a dog rose not that it helps me to understand it any better.
