I must have been half asleep too Hostafan - I though it was one of the male presenters who visited the Canna garden and as for the species not a cultivar, well that just passed over my head. Sorry for giving the wrong information.
Thanks @Hostafan1. I have grown Cannas from seed, I used Chiltern seeds, but now just tend to divide existing rhizomes in the Spring. Named varieties do not in my experience produce seed. They are very easy from seed, but as shown on GW., I have found they do need chitting, and having done this, I then soak for 24 hours in warm water.
