2 bushes to identify
in Plants

Can anyone identify these bushes please. The one with the red berries has spikes the same length as the leaves.
The one with the purple berries seems quite common. The berries are slightly transparent when the sun shines through them.
I couldn't take cuttings so I took some berries from both bushes. Would you folks plant the seeds individually or plant the whole berry?

I thought the leaves on No2 were a bit pointed for L. Pileata, my first thought was Abelia.
I might be totally wrong.
It does not bear berries.

Leaves look spot on for Lonicera pileata.

Lonicera pileata is sometimes used in mass plantings in supermarket car parks where it nearly always produces those gorgeous berries.
We used to grow it.....never ever got the berries.
Unproven theory...it needs cross pollination from other plants to get the berries????
