Please could you help me identify this large plant, it has red berries (the starlings love them) at this time of year and large spikes on some of the branches , it started small but now as you can see is pretty large. When would be the best time to cut it back and how much can I take off it?

Thank you! It looks like elaeagnus umbellata. I didn't realise the fruits are edible, not sure I want to try one though.
