Leeks gone to seed

My leeks have gone to seed so instead of disposing of them can I collect the seed for future use? If so how do I go about it?

    Not something I would know the answer to but maybe someone on the forum can give you an answer  :)

    I believe that if you just leave them in the ground they'll grow back next year from your existing leeks (much like onions or garlic would), assuming that's convenient.
    There's no harm in also collecting seeds though, if you're happy to do so.

    They wont grow back if they’ve already produced seed. Their purpose in life has been achieved and that is it ... over.   They are biennial. 

    You can collect seed and use if it is ripe and dry ... but you are unlikely identical plants to the parents as they will have been cross pollinated.
