Rogue grass in lawn

There are several clumps of very coarse dark green grass growing in the lawn, roughly the size of a saucer, they cut out quite easily, as yet not sure if they will grow back, anybody kindly have any idea what it is?

I would guess couch grass. You are doing right cutting it out as it will try to take over.

thx for reply purpleallim............don't think it's couch grass as it is much coarser and a really dark green, a mower struggles to cut it, will get a picture of it posted.

Hi, could it be Yorkshire Fog Holcus lanatus? I get this in my laws in Warwickshire.
