Brussel Sprout infested

hello, i’m growing brussels for the first time but they seem to be infested by something. Would anyone be able to advise please what they are and how is best to get rid of them please. Many thanks for your help!

  • Ah many thanks, I did a bit of a google and they came up but wanted to ask the experts! 
  • My sprouts  and kale on the allotment are covered with them,far worse than previous  years. I just shake them off when harvesting  get huge clouds of them and then wash throughly  before cooking.  Doesn't  seem to affect the overall  health of plants .
  • I find a jet of water from the hose gets red of most of them without using chemicals on something I’m going to eat. A repeated jet of water a few days later usually  finishes them off. They tend not to be a problem once the weather turns cold.
