Mixing up the seeds
About two years ago, I emptied all the old seed packets into a bowl, mixed them up, flower and vegetable seeds and sowed the lot in the ground, in a very sheltered bed near a low wall facing south.
the usual suspects came up, carrot, beans, lettuce along with wallflowers, snapdragons, sweetwilliam, aubetia etc, but this year I noticed a very unusual leaved plant climbing round the dahlia stems and now I see tiny flowers of the ipomoea lobata!
i first saw this plant at Hyde Hall even longer ago, it’s very pretty and usual both in the shape of the leaves and the flowers which range across cream, yellow and orange
