Identify this ground cover

This turns up in my garden from time to time, not sure if friend or foe but I do quite like it although I usually dig it up as unsure. (Not the lights ha ha). Should I let it ramble or get rid?

Oxalis corniculata aka creeping woodsorrel - looks like you have the purple variant.  You'll never be rid of it once you have it so it's a good job you like it! :)

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thanks Bob, as long as it doesn't do any harm.
  • The seeds get everywhere ('exploding' seed pods) which is a bit of a nuisance.  I just dig it up (the taproot can go down a few inches) from where it isn't wanted.  Those yellow flowers on the dark purple foliage can look quite dazzling in the evening light. :)

I quite like the colour combination too. It followed us from our old house many years ago.
I like it but remove any found. That probably sounds contrary but if it is happy it is hard to get rid of. As BobTheGardener said the seeds explode everywhere.
gently hold your fingers either side of a pod, when you find a ripe one it is quite interesting to "feel" how explosive those tiny pods are.
