My Hawkshead had it too but it's fine this year after being chopped to the ankles last year. A lilac and pink one I didn't like got binned so I don't know if that one would've survived.
The hedgerow type magellicana and the pale pink one didnt get it .
I've noticed that pink valerian gets something that looks like gall mite, but not the white or red.

I’m in NE England I have a bed of Genii Fuchsias in my front garden and they suffered gall mite about 4 years ago. That continued for another 2 years, much less affected in 2020 and just about free this year. I didn’t dig out any plants and just snipped out the worst affected shoots. Plants in the back garden weren’t affected. Good luck

I live in Somerset & have two Mrs Popple fuchsias in borders, both of which have gall mites. I keep trimming off the affected parts but it still keeps coming. I have thought about digging them up but read that if we have a cold winter of 5 degrees or less, it might, just might,  kill off the mites. I think I'll leave prune them a little & pray for some cold weather which really goes against the grain.

In my experience, trimming is not enough. You have to cut them down to the ankles and remove all trimmings and sterilize your secateurs.
