Mind Your Own Business...

about 4 sq yards of our cobbled courtyard is solid green with this stuff.  I've left it alone as it looks quite nice but now want to remove it.  It has grown through the rubber fibres between the cobbles so there's no top soil to lose.  Can it be added to the compost pile as a 'green' or will that create future problems?
