Passion flower

Hi can you tell me if I can eat the fruit of this passion flower it was only a very small plant but has completely took over

    From what I have read, they are not poisonous, you can eat them, but they do not taste nice.  There are other varieties like the purpley ones you get in the shops.

    This long hot summer has been good for things like your Passionflower.

    Thanks Ruby for your reply . Yes this summer has produced a lot of fruit really pretty with the flowers in summer and the fruits in augtumn . I would like to try and grow the other type but not to sure if I could in this climate 
  • I have been eating this type with Yogurt. They are very nice, similar to pomegrate. The only thing is that there is little inside each fruit, but you have lots of them :) 
  • Do these grow from the ground up each year? My neighbours plant has grown over the fence and on all over my shed roof.

    No the plant doesn’t die off the flowers grow from the vine then turn in to fruit but it does grow rapid once established a bit like ivy I think

    Very easy to take cuttings I’ve give lots of cuttings away and yes zero they also grow from the ground
