Gardeners world timing

What is the time lapse between filming gardeners world and airing it, as last nights show seems a lot more full of life than my own.

I think Monty's link sections are filmed in the week before, as a rule, but I'm not sure. Some of the other article pieces are filmed weeks ahead or even the previous year - they usually say when it was at the end of the piece.

  • I heard Monty talk at the Southport Flower Show in August and he said that every programme takes 2-3 weeks to air. He said that lines are written for him but he never reads them. Someone in the audience asked him why the viewers only ever see snippets of his gArden. They wanted to see an aerial view but Monty replied that it is his own gArden and every Friday eve he likes to welcome viewers as if they were friends. So Viewers see it as his friends do when they visit - walking along with him, Nell and Nigel.
  • I think I prefer that way as well.   Little hidden parts that you see as you walk along with him.  The way you would in real life.

walk along BEHIND  him, the paths are all too narrow for 2 people to walk side by side.

  • Depends how wide the people are and how close they like to walk  ;)
