Sudden yellowing and wilt of established daphne odora

in Plants
I have an 11 year old daphne which has thrived until about a fortnight ago when it suddenly began to droop and go yellow. I have read that they can suddenly die without warning. What I’m wondering is whether it is likely to revive, or whether it has gone beyond the point of no return? If there’s no hope for it I will take it out as I could use the space, but I don’t want to jump the gun. Has anyone else had any experience of this?
