I grew galia and watermelons in our polytunnel this summer in a bed, not pots, using small plants bought in May. They climbed up to about 4 metres before I stopped them. Temps in there got up to the high 40s in July when we had the serious heat and easily over 30 in August. We kept it well ventilated and watered and fruit set was fine. 6 melons from the galia and 4 from the water which was later. Lovely to have but not as tasty as the locally grown Charentais melons which are a kind of canteloupe.
Unless your conservatory is guaranteed frost free and won't get lower than about 10C I'd say you're on a hiding to nothing planting out these things now. I suspect also that light levels will be too low even if you can keep them warm enough.

should I die before I die to live again.
