Is there any way to stop wild garlic on newly sown lawn bed?
Hi
I have dug up my old front lawn because it was full of weeds and I have extensively removed the wild garlic bulbs (3 cornered leek) from the soil. The soil is heavy dry clay so I’ve added a lot of organic matter to it and raked it into a fine tilth. I have not yet sown the lawn seed but there are still a few wild garlics coming up which I’m removing. I don’t want to sow the lawn seed while there are any remaining bulbs but some are so small and difficult to see. I could wait a few weeks to pull up the garlic as it comes up but it will be too late to sow a lawn by then as it will be a lot cooler and they say September is the best month for sowing a new lawn.
Does anyone have any immediate solutions?
