Propogation - Indoors or outdoors?

Today's Storm Ali blew over my Lobelia Cardinalis, so I took the opportunity to take cuttings (cut the main stem into 6 or 7 pieces) and I poppped them into some cuttings compost.

I am wondering if I should leave them outside so that they get good light and continued rainfall or whether that would make the cuttings too wet and so I should move them indoors (thinking of upstairs in my garage where there is good light with no central heating)?

    Great question, I’ve got the same dilemma.  I’ll be following this thread with interest.

    another thought - your salvia cuttings might root in water.

    I would use the garage, to keep the cuttings free from excess water, just keep a close eye on them making sure they don't dry out, wouldn't worry about no central heating.

    I would rig up a cold frame ... some blocks or lumps of wood and an old window from a skip?

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    I do start all of my cuttings and seeds off indoors in the kitchen. They then get transferred to the conservatory then out in the GH when they are potted up. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
