  Sounds very normal for this time of year.  Is it an old Bush?
  Clip off all old flower stems,  if you have a large bush or bushes use shears.
  go in “Lightly” Never go into old wood. Next spring when you see signs of new growth give another gentle clip. Make sure there is plenty of air around the plant.
