Has anyone grown this? I am trying to fill a long flower bed. Will it survive dry stony soil?

It should if you can work in some well-rotted compost and a dressing of B, F & B or similar before planting.   I was given a single plant and did just that and it's been fine.  Now to wait for the seeds so I can have lots next year.

Thank you. I have found seeds on Sarah Ravens site but out of stock at the moment. She will send to France.

So do the RHS - if you're a member and thus benefit form their seed distribution scheme - and so do Chilterns, Plant World and many more I'm sure.

How is a great time to plant Ammi, according to Sarah. I planted my seeds last year in about April and they made a poor show, no more than a couple of feet high. I was hoping for five/six foot whoppers. I also have milk parsley in (perennial) which is doing ok, but hopefully will be high as an elephant's eye next year. There are various perennial umbellifers, if you fancy a break from annual planting. x

I always sow mine about now, plant out in Spring and they usually grow to 3 or 4 feet tall.

I planted mine out as young plants from seeds, in 2017, left all the heads on, ended up with just 2 plants this year.

I might sow some direct into the ground and see what happens. Everything is so dry, though, it would need constant attention until the rains come.
