Unhealthy-looking rosemary

Advice needed please! I'm pretty new to gardening and my rosemary (was in the garden before I arrived on the scene two years ago) is looking a bit sorry for itself. The leaves seem to have what look like lots of yellow spots - see pictures. Is this an infestation (e.g. leafhopper), some kind of rust, or perhaps a watering issues? Any ideas much appreciated! Thank you :)

There was a thread earlier this year on the same subject.
    Maybe thrips

You can use it as normal in the kitchen.  The only time I would never use a herb is if it had been sprayed with any kind of insecticide.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

  • Many thanks indeed for your swift replies @Pete8, @BobTheGardener and @MrsGlaze, much appreciated! Helps to know I'm not alone - and also that we can still eat the herbs :) And really useful to see that earlier thread too, thanks for the pointer - my oregano and mint have shown similar signs, so does look as though thrips is a likely candidate... I saw that one piece of advice in the earlier thread was to cut the affected plants down (I assume to the base, rather than completely removing the plant) and refresh the soil. Would you recommend this too? Thanks again
