Too late to plant out

Been sent well matured cistus 9" pot can i plant outside this time of year?

    You can if you have some well drained soil to plant it into. It won't like a winter in heavy clay.
  • now is the time, the soil is still warm so the root will grow well, but its not too warm during the day to dry out new plants

  • Depends where you live - there's no way I could plant out a Cistus here!
    My 'Alan Fradd', supposedly one of the hardiest ones, has to come in for the winter.
    His predecessor almost made it through to spring, in a fairly mild year, only to get caught by a sharp spring frost which finished him off!
