  Possibly a Bergenia?
  If it is I think you should just be able to dig the whole thing up.

  Thank you. We have a whole bed of them falling over a shallow raised bed? I have dug them out last year but they have come back again. It seems they regrow from the tubular type roots? Does this fit with a bergina?

  I think it is bergina looking it up now. Many thanks. Shall just dig up the whole bed and remove it all.

  If if you don’t want it just pour on some rosate360 that will kill it completely, you can buy it on eBay

  Thank you. We have a great willow tree above it. Will the rotate harm the willow?

  Don't you like the bergenia flowers? I think they're great blooming before anything else.

  ju1i3 I don’t mind the flowers but the foliage is doesn’t work with what we are slowing planning g in the garden. See picture of house/patio area. We are now slowly widening beds by the fences and will tackle the end of the garden last.
