powdery mildew on tree

need some advice please, one of our trees has powdery mildew on its leaves, is it ok to add them to my leaf mould pile when they drop, or should I dispose of them separately ?

  • I wouldn't worry ... powdery mildew spores are in the air everywhere ... you can't prevent it ... just keep your plants healthy so they don't succumb ... it's been a difficult year but I will be adding leaves with PM to my compost heap.

  • thanks Dove from above, wasn't sure if they would contaminate the rest of the pile, I've already cut back loads of plants covered in it and binned them as didn't know if ok to add to the compost, not had this problem before, but have heard it's been bad this year due to lack of rain and high heat 🌼
