How far appart should I plant winter pansies in pots?

Can any body give me advice?

    If they're the small viola types then fairly close - 2"/5cms - or a bit more if they're the larger ones.  You need the foliage to join up to cover the compost and reduce wind erosion and drying so check the ultimate size and use that as your planting distance.

    I've just put 12 into a pot which is about 15 inches in diameter underplanted with some dwarf narcissi and chinodoxa.

    I plant mine closer than summer pots because they don't put on as much growth in winter

    Yes, I wouldn't say my pot was stuffed. There is still room for a few more.
