  • Only pic I have at the moment is this one but I don't think it will be much help to you sorry as it doesn't show very much foliage.

Not helpful.  You need a better photo but whatever it is, that photo doesn't look like a happy tree.

  • No I didn’t think it would be good enough I’ll get a better one when I’m next to it next. I’m applying to fell it so will be out of its misery soon.
  • Hi.

Hopefully these pictures may be of more help for identification.

    Thanks

  • Looks like cedar to me, though no idea which variety.

Thanks for your help. I'll put it back out on the public forum in case anyone does know. Its to apply for  it to be cut down so need any get it right. Thanks again
  • In that case: you don't need to be able to accurately ID a tree species, in order to apply for to have it cut down. Here in Camden, when we applied to have an enormous Lleylandii removed, the tree officer from the council came to have a look for himself - I simply wrote 'conifer' and that was enough! The only problem you may encounter is if there is a TPO (tree preservation order) for your tree and if so, that will affect if you can remove it or not.

Conifer will do much better than cedar as most people will think of the great cedars of Lebanon and be horrified you'd want to cut it down.
