Moving and pruning roses in autumn

Can I move climbing roses in autumn

    Best left until they're dormant over the winter months.

    Agree with Hostafan - I have had to move a smallish one due to a house move, and I'm keeping everything crossed it survives. I wouldn't have done so now, if the circumstances had been different. It was in a huge (unmovable!) planter, so its roots were more contained than if it had been in the ground.
    I was really careful to not damage the long tap root, but some smaller side roots would have definitely suffered. It's not in full sun now, protected, gave it a feed and is being kept very well watered.
