Can you use fushia for mulch?

I have a mulch pile stewing and was wondering that when it is time to cut back my fushia bush if I can add the cuttings to the mulch pile? Or is this a bad idea ? The mulch will be for planting wild flowers in the spring .

If you put it through a shredder, or run over the bits with a rotary mower, it will rot down quicker to form a useful mulch.
  • Basically anything can go on the compost except meat and cooked stuff. If its organic it will eventually break down. The thicker it is the longer it takes to break down - so think twigs can mean a longer wait
