Taking seeds / cuttings from Thalictrum

Hi Everyone,

I planted a Thalictrum from seed and have enjoyed it so much this summer, that I would like to have some more for next year.

Can someone advise me on how I can either take the seeds from the plant or take cuttings etc? It doesn't look like a plant that can be split but maybe I'm wrong.

Any advice for this very amateur gardener would be great

That's a very pretty one. If it produces seeds you can of course grow them. Some varieties seed themselves everywhere, like weeds, but I don't recognise yours. I don't believe they can be divided, they don't like their roots disturbed.

Yes, it seems like a bit of a mutant one, as the other one I have has larger leaves, which don't look as good as these petite leaves. Any Idea how I could get the seeds from them? Do I wait for the flowers to wither and look for seeds in the heads?

The seed pods will form after the flowers die off. When they are brown you can collect the seed.
