Evergreen clippings mulch

Hi,

Ive just trimmed some conifer, holly and cotoneaster.

can I make a mulch with these?  I seem to recall ericaceous plants like conifer mulch?

    Conifer would be fine as an ericaceous mulch if you have the need. Holly not so much but might help to keep the local cats off and I'd hesitate to use cotoneaster if it's got berries on it at all as it seeds itself all over the place - it's even coming up through our drive.

    I keep holly out of my mulches simply because it's leaves have sharp edges which don't decay fast and dig into one's hands when grabbing a handful of compost

    All good points - I’ll separate out the conifer and the rest can go to the council.
