why do my fushias only seem to flower in late summer, are they supposed to?

Most Fuchsias will flower from mid summer right the way through to late autumn time. Local conditions such as your soil, the amount of sun it gets can affect them by starting earlier or later.
  • They generally enjoy a bit of shade and cooler weather, the major part of this summer has been rather hot for their taste. Quite a few other plants shut up shop early too, in the temperatures we have had :)
