Looking a Swing Seat

Can any kind soul recommend a swing seat for the garden?

It would need to fit 2 adults comfortably, and I think I would prefer a wooden one to a metal one (but not certain of that).
I find it hard to choose online as it's difficult to know just how comfortable it is for sitting; hence why I'd love a recommendation.

Any seat that moves makes me queasy so can't help.
  • I absolutely love my garden swing and instantly helps me relax. I have a small  metal one costing only £49 from argos but it had a material seat that after about 3 years I fell straight through as it  deteriorated with the sun even with protection over winter! I fixed it with string and plastic coated wire fencing and it's doing well until I can afford a wooden one! I have been keeping my eye open for bargains usually at the end of summer. The wooden ones are a bit out of my price range so for now i am going to upcycle my metal one with wooden slats. I have seen a tutorial online so am going to try that first!
In some of my local garden centres they have some so I always try them out. The Miami swing is good and the double seated one is oh so comfy with leg rests and high back support. I did a Google search for images but prices vary from place to place so worth shopping around. Check out larger garden centres to try any out then search online to get a better bargain for what you choose. You will need to treat it each year to ensure it lasts but definitely worth the investment in my opinion!

  • I built this one using some local larch logs, hazel, some chain and a simple bench back in 2003.

It lasted a good while but needed some renovation so got some local red cedar logs for the uprights, a few treated planks for the rood left over from a fencing project and now have this.

In between times discovered that keeping the grass underneath was not easy so replaced with some stone.
