Any ideas or designs to finish the front off? Thank you.

Hi All,

I have completed a yellow balau hard wood decked area & am looking for some advice as to some cover the gaps at the front as my garden slopes & ive no more balau decking left. I also want to take the difficult corners out & put something in there so cutting the grass is easier, as I cant get in with my mower.

  • You could build raised beds along the edge of the decking, from grass height would give a good depth and you could choose how high you want them( level with deck or raised to give an edge to sit on) on the grass side you could then put an edging of maybe bricks so the lawn wouldn't be up against them making it easier to mow.

I'd second that. Easiest just to dig a flower bed by the side of the decking the width of the sticky out bit, keeping it straight so it's easier to mow, and doing a brick edging like Purplerallim says on the lawn side. Let us know what kind of soil you have, whereabouts are you and which direction the patio faces and we can give you some planting ideas.

For the corners you can’t get into, set aside an appropriate square/recatangle and let it grow wild.

Put a BBQ up against the wall where that solo chair is.

Some height is what I’m thinking on the deck. Two conifer planters, maybe. A long trough on the right.
