Fertilising a lawn in September
Hi.
I will be fertilising my first lawn this month and wondered if anyone has any tips on please on how best to approach it at this time of year? The lawn is on top of a swimming pool and I've been warned that it only has a thin layer of soil under the grass. Will it be a huge problem of I don't stick a fork in to make air holes?
Thanks

The lawn is on the flat roof of the swimming pool. Like a rooftop garden I suppose.
I will have to talk to the owners and see if they are happy for me to put some fork holes in it so I'm just wondering how effective it would be if they say no?
Thanks
So as I understand it if the soil is only thin then its not compacted as much as a standard lawn so wont need air holes put in first? Fertiliser can just be spread on as is?
Thanks for your help so far
