Clematis cutting rooted but no growth

kasjkkasjk Posts: 137
Hi all. I took a cutting of a clematis (Paul Farges Summer Snow) about 10 weeks ago which I put in a pot of vermiculite covered with a plastic bag and I believe it has rooted as it doesn't move when I gently tug at it. Only issue is, there hasn't been any new growth appear at all. So..should I leave it as it is until I can either see new growth or actual roots or do I pot it into a pot of compost instead of the vermiculite it's in at the moment?

  • At 10 weeks I would definitely tip it out of the vermiculite, if it hasn't rooted now it never will. These cuttings of mine were taken 17th August and this is 19 days later when I took the picture, they are clematis apiifolia, similar to Paul Farges
