My unsung heroes this year have been a patch of heliposis I grew from seed 2 years ago. I wasn't sure where to plant them last autumn, so I just stuck them out of the way. The were laying over a path, so they got a Chelsea chop. They started flowering mid-june, I've not dead-headed at all, and they've not been watered once, and even today they're still producing lots of flowers. I shall move them somewhere more deserving of them for next year

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Geranium Rozanne and Gaura Whirling butterflies have been flowering nonstop since April and show no signs of stopping. Endless flowers and many more in bud on giant 8ft Tithonia - they have totally smothered everything else in the border but do make a stunning display.
I might look at this geranium next spring if I can find a place for it.
I have Ingwersen's Variety but was disappointed to discover (after planting) that it only has one flush of flowers and was spent by June.
Rozanne will eventually die back, at least mine did, but don’t know about the Ingwersen. Rozanne keeps on flowering for ages because it’s sterile. Your GW link says you need to deadhead Ingwersen to keep it going (otherwise it will think it’s job is done). If you did that, maybe it didn’t like the heatwave? A few other sterile long-flowerers are mentioned on here:
These are early flowering Geraniums. They will be sporadic after the first main flush. You will need to cut down pretty hard by June to get regrowth and sporadic flowers. As for evergreen/semi-evergreen, the word is over-rated for geraniums. At best, you will see some clumps of stems and weak looking leaves throughout the winter months, but nothing like what you see in the summer time.

That says it should flower for ages. Any idea why mine didn't?
Do they tend to stay evergreen in all but the coldest winters?
