Wildflower garden

Hi all, I have recently put down a wildflower mix into a corner of my garden after removing the turf. I am seeing some germination of something right now… I’m just wondering if people know if it looks like the wildflower or something else… They all look the same ... if anybody has experience with this let me know if this looks right or not!

It isn't really possible to tell with these first 'seed leaves' as they are virtually identical on many, many plants.  Post more photos when there are a couple of 'true leaves' showing on them. :)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Fidget posted these links earlier today. A bit late for you now but there is some good info about ground prep.
    Well worth a read.
  •  Okay thanks, I’ll keep that in mind I have to re-sow.

The ground prep I did wasn’t too bad though… I guess this is my seed mix coming up as it doesn’t look like regular grass or weeds and it seems too coincidental that so much of it would come up at the same time over a biggish area like this.

    Keep watering it.
  • We have just recently (approx. 2 wks.) sown a wild flower mix too and we don't know which have germinated yet as they are so small, however we do have Yellow Rattle and mixed wild grasses in the mix. It will be interesting to compare progress James.  Our soil in this area has never been fertilized or fed, so it is very poor.

Bob is right in saying that a lot of seed leaves look the same 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 😁, but zooming in I can see some subtle differences between your seedlings.

Be assured that there are lots of different plants sprouting in your patch. Too early to tell what's what though.
The first seed leaves almost never look like the plants true leaves. The only thing I can think of that does is grass 😄.
  • Thank you @Kitty 2 I've noticed they've grown quite a bit in the couple of days since those photos were taken and indeed look quite different.  My sowing thickness is a bit variable :-/ or maybe that's just germination rates … but either way I'm happy right now, something is happening and it's not bog standard grass, dandelions and ash trees!
