My monstera has recently developed these brown spots. The sunlight is not hitting the leaves directly but the room is generally quite light. I water the monstera about once a week. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks
The pot looks a bit small so it could be root bound. Other problems can be a lack of humidity or a lack of nutrients. Do you mist or feed the plant at all?

It looks as if it's near a door. Do people brush against it? The positions of the brown spots look as if they could be due to the leaves being touched before they were fully unfurled.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Thank you for your suggestion, I will take this into account. I have only recently moved into this home (2 weeks ago) which is when I bought the monstera so I’m not sure in the history of it. I didn’t notice these marks on the leaves when I bought it so I’m thinking it could be to do with the change of environment. The door is a storage cupboard which isn’t really used so hopefully it won’t get disturbed there.

You need to do both really. Water thoroughly when the top inch or so of the soil has dried out and mist the leaves if the room is very dry. They grow rapidly so need a good regular feed. If you repot then add some feed granules to the new soil. It's probably best to repot in the spring now as growth will slow down over the winter.
