Calla lily

Hi there had a great show of calla lilies this summer from Aldi  still in flower but 3x of my flower pistils have turned into big green blobs about ten in one flower please can you enlighten me

    They sound like seed pods to me, mine has the same thing going on.
    I guess it's because of the hot summer, I didn't notice any last year.

    Daddy longlegs look at photo on my ID post? My canna has something growing which is apparently a seed pod

    I've had the same (also from Aldi callas) - they're seeds - I cut a few off yesterday but I'll see if there are more to take a photo.

    Debs, yours are cannas, whereas I *think* Dll's and mine are callas (Zantedeschia) - mine are certainly 'big green blobs' too!

    Would be interested to hear if anyone has successfully grown the seeds from these in the uk.

    Answering my own query... Yes!
    My seeds have sprouted 😀.


    It might be a couple of years before they reach flowering size but I'm happy that my experiment was successful.
