Raised bed edging

Hi All,

I have some raised beds for veg with scruffy grass between them. I get weeds growing up along the outside of the beds which inevitably spread to the insides of the beds.

What I had thought of doing was putting a very narrow (non-raised) bed along the outside of each raised bed with some kind of heavy-duty weed-supressing planting. Would anybody have a suggestion for what I could use?

Many thanks!
Owen.

I have recently used Everedge which is great, not cheap but will probably outlast me.
  • Not sure about 'another non raised bed' but if you want to suppress weeds, then bark chips make a good path and are easy.

How wide are the paths? Would it make sense to strip the "scruffy grass" off completely and replace with bark chips as Zero suggests.
